Secrets to Using SEO Keywords in Your Etsy Storefront

Secrets to Using SEO Keywords in Your Etsy Storefront | MamaBleu.com

We've already learned that the strategy behind Etsy SEO is identifying and using strong keywords in your shop. Although the primary placement of keywords should be in your Titles and Tags, there is a little known secret about using SEO kewords in areas of your Etsy Storefront too.

I know you want as much of a competitive edge as possible, so we are going to discuss tucking strong keywords into other areas of your shop that Google will read.

1 | Identifying Keywords

Before we get started, you may want to review my blog post that explains Etsy SEO and how to identify strong keywords and keyword phrases.

We looked at how important keywords are and how to effectively place them in your titles and tags to improve the success of your shop.

2 | Etsy Shop Title

Your shop title is different from your shop name. It acts as a by-line under your Etsy shop name and can be as long as 55 characters.

Without the knowledge of the power of this small area of your shop you might be tempted to repeat your shop name or put something cute and non-signification here.

This area is prime real estate for keywords that describe what you sell. Use every bit of those 55 characters and choose your words wisely.

3 | Shop Announcement

Composing information for this area is very much like creating the titles of your items. Put the most important keywords first.

The first sentence or two are SEO relevant and should be loaded with keywords. Be sure to include the same ones that are in your shop title.

Additional information should be added below the keyword area. You can include a message or links to your blog or social media pages.

4 | Shop Sections

Another area of prime real estate for keywords is you Shop Sections.

If you have dozens of items in your shop, organizing them into sections can help your customers more easily find what they are looking for.

You can create 20 custom sections that are limited to 24 characters each. Each of these sections should be prime keywords from your shop.

Remember that getting found on Etsy and getting found on Google are different....and the same. The method for each is to help your customers find you; Matching your Title and Tag keywords help you get found on Etsy. Matching your Shop Title, Shop Announcement and Shop Section keywords help you get found on Google.

Which of these tips are you going to implement? Were you surprised by any of the suggestions in this post?
